TESTING FACILITIES

The Construction Material Division offers Physical and mechanical analysis of wide range of materials used by the construction and its allied industry. The testing are carried out as per the International Standards and specifications as defined in IS, BIS, ASTM, BS EN, DIN, etc. In certain cases, the tests can also be performed in accordance with the customer specified test methods or procedure. The core services offered by the material Division includes testing of Soil, Aggregates & Rock, Natural Building Stone, Concrete, Steel & Steel products, Asphalt, Cement, Construction Water, Concrete Admixture etc.

Mechanical testing is performed to determine whether a material is suitable for its final application, for quality control or in research and development to predict how a material will react under other types of forces. This is achieved by measuring properties such as Young’s Modulus, tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, hardness and impact resistance.

There are various tests conducted to evaluate the performance of different properties of concrete products, during Design & Development stages, for the purpose of validating the mix designs and during Quality Control exercise.

We at AEL has expertise to provide various mix designs of concrete, keeping the latest technology and innovative materials in mind. AEL is well equipped to carry out various testing on concrete specimens as per Indian (BIS), ASTM and EN Specifications. These includes but not limited to the following:

• Flexural Strength
• Rapid Chloride Penetration Test (RCPT)
• Water Permeability/Penetration Test (WPT)
• Split Tensile Test
